Art Prescription: Today was a cold, wet, rainy day! And my friends and neighbors still came out to celebrate my open studio with me. Thanks y’all!! For those of you who live a little far off…

Art Prescription: Meadows are my favorite spots. And a meadow with horses…well “As soon as I leave, I want to return.”

Art Prescription: Both of us in need of clearing our minds, my friend and I. I went and led Finn out of the woods, rode a bit. Then we both took in the calm that is the farm, to clear our heads and sketch!

Art Prescription: Set out to my studio to paint a colorful spring forest. Reality took over and I painted what I was feeling…really feeling.

Art Prescription: For some the holiday season comes to a roaring halt, moms and dads exhausted, children over-stimulated and cranky, people wishing they were really HOME for the holidays. Okay, I’m not bah-humbug. I just think simple is better. Peace is good…

Art Prescription: This morning outdoors was a sauna. I was taking photos of new art, and the heat felt like a wet blanket. After a good rain, the air felt much cooler…went for a nice walk.

Art Prescription: With all the rain we have had, most creeks and wetlands are abundant with creatures. The sounds of nature amuse me! There is a story in each moment.
Countdown to Surtex
So I dig, plant annuals
Get myself grounded.
Art Prescription: I leave in a couple of days for Surtex in New York. I’m both excited and nervous. I’ve done this show a few times, but every year it all feels new. Along with Surtex is the National Stationery Show, the Contemporary Furniture Show, and this year an arts and crafts section which I’m thrilled to see. I do love home though, so today I worked a bit planting my garden so I have peace to come back to!
