Humble pie is served
I’ll take a submissive slice
And assume it’s best.
Art Prescription: Sometimes we learn our best life lessons by taking a step back, being humble, and looking at the big picture.

Excavating self
We dig to satisfy our
True soul’s reflection.
Art Prescription: What do you find on your dig? Surface? Or are you brave enough to dig a bit deeper? Go ahead…be brave…

Who you are right now
Layers of a lived life
Put in place by grace.
Art Prescription: Give thanks to your many up’s and down’s, for that is what built the you that is YOU!
Index card with acrylics and collage:

Who’s behind the mask
Is it your authentic self?
Or an impostor?
Art Prescription: In a search for everything real…what can you touch, feel, see, smell, hear, each and every day of your one precious life?
Mask with acrylics:

Same stars light the sky
For some it’s the last, some first
Christmas past, present.
Art Prescription: Time is marked by events like Christmas Eve. As I gaze out at the big wide open sky, I think. These same stars were shining on my first Christmas Eve, and will shine on past my last. Humbling…Be true to yourself. Live in the present and seek joy everyday. Merry Christmas!
Loneliness is not
Being only flower bud
But failure to bloom.
Art Prescription: The garden is ripe with buds and blooms and it occurs to me that to make a garden whole it takes many elements. The rain, the sun, the soil, birds, bees, and the instinctual element of life growing on despite any adversary. A tree fallen by a storm, will only grow upward with new branches. We humans get so attached to this one short life we live. If you relish in nature’s messages, you will be at peace with the whole. Four winds, Bev
Free from worldly wants
You hear your own strong footsteps
Go! You know the way!
Art Prescription: A student of all things Zen, I strive to apply the lessons of many great teachers to my life. I think the hardest lesson of all is to listen to your own heart and not allow the chaotic, negative energy of others divert you from what you know is good and whole and healthy. Peace.
