Art Prescription: Sam and I found a new place to hike today. A wooded trail by a creek with wildflowers everywhere. Really magical. We meandered through pine and hard-wood forests and across open meadows.

Art Prescription: Today was a day for cuddling. I’m blessed to have many hand-made quilts. Both sets of grandparents were quilters, so after a busy week the Dyer family all piled into bed under one and took a nap…bliss! Watercolor sketch on a 3 x 5 index card.

Art Prescription: I did an art show today in Hillsborough, NC. What a picture perfect day. Sunshine, breeze, and people enjoying being a part of their neighborhood. One couple bought a piece they are taking to England. A young woman bought several pieces for her new home in Efland, NC, and another who is engaged to be married, picked up 3 works for her anticipated new life in Kansas! Lovely to meet my customers and see my art find homes!

Art Prescription: Everyone is in such a rush. Tempers flare…people lose sight of what’s important in life. For what? Money? Power? …Kindness goes a lot further.

Art Prescription: Sound familiar? We rush to be 16, and then we rush to be 21, and we rush to get through school and “start” our life. Don’t know about you…but these days I want to savor the moment.

Tender young leaves shoot outward
Willows weeping green.
Art Prescription: A picture a day would capture the steady push of spring via leaves. Winter tree shapes now have a halo of green surrounding them. Renewal!

Wake up slow, no alarm clock

Art Prescription: While for the most part I like being up early, makes the day longer, it is on occasion totally blissful to sleep-in.
