Creamy morning dove
High in tree top late day sun
Coos softly for mate.
Art Prescription: Caught a glimpse of a creamy-white breast of a mourning dove. Warm afternoon sun just right. Coos, reminiscent of summers at my grandmother’s pond.
Through binoculars
I sight movement in the trees
Hawk at my shoulder!!
Art Prescription: Today’s haiku is momentarily interrupted for a near hawk encounter. I was writing about Mourning Doves…when through my binoculars I caught a glimpse of something in the trees. I searched, but no find. Turned to walk and right there!!! over my left shoulder sat a big hawk. He/she looked at me and I startled…I mean really jumped it was that close! Then I just got quiet and watched. I wondered why this winged beauty was braving my presence. The hawk took off then to join a mate…
Start here, end up there
Brain thinks, spirit takes over
Expressive painting!!
Art Prescription: Sometimes the best thing is to take brush and paint to paper!! You may not be creating a work of art. You may be doing your body, mind, and spirit some good by just letting go. Expressive painting increases your immune system. Now go…and let.
Weather forecast, snow
All day I look to the sky
Excuse for milk, bread?
Art Prescription: Okay, so I might wake up to a sea of white, but right now…I don’t see any snow!!! Since early morning the forecast for a winter storm has been all over television, radio, and Facebook. I did go to the grocery store for stamps, and they were out! Schools cancelled today. Many businesses closed early. Curious. Warm in my studio where I painted love birds.
