Letting go…

The prompt for this post comes from a friend”s facebook comment. He spoke of “letting go of fear.” Powerful.

I t reminds me that fear is so embedded in our biology, that we sometimes go around holding too tightly to our emotions. Fear is the essence of our fight or flight response. This reaction sends off a powerful chain reaction of brain chemicals and hormones that surge through our body. Now sometimes you need fear and it’s timely behavioral shift. But day after day left unattended,these stress hormones build up and cause us fatigue, depression, and feelings of dis – ease.

Art is a perfect way to attend to these emotions. Pick up a brush, some paper and paint, and go to town. You don’t have to paint a “pretty” picture. Just paint and let your unconscious be your muse. Prescription – Paint a couple of times a week for four weeks. Just notice!!
