Monarch Butterflies

Each fall, millions of monarch butterflies begin their migration from far north to central Mexico where they wait on their return flight in spring. This mysterious and recently discovered phenomena is being threatened by the constant building and foresting that is going on nation wide.

Today I set out to find milkweed plant, the host plant for the life-cycle of the monarch. A close by nursery had milkweed that has gone to seed, but I was excited to find monarch caterpillars lively feeding on the plant.
