Clearing the static

For most artists there is always a lot of static going on in their heads. Being able to focus and tune into bringing an idea to fruition is magic. I’ve found it takes a ton of time making many mistakes before I paint something I like. Then, heaven knows if anyone else will like it.

The artists asks, “is it original,” “is it me,” “will people like it,” “is the composition good,” “what if I used another color,” “would it look good on plates…towels…stationery?”

To thine own self be true. This is what I strive for when I pick up my paint brush.  Surtex is 2 weeks away and I can’t wait to be drenched with the vibe of New York and all things art.

Art Prescription: Give yourself enough time in the studio to make a lot of mistakes!
