Holiday Card Making at the NC Botanical Garden

Just home from “teaching” my first Art Prescription class at the NC Botanical Garden. We had so much fun! Since the class was only 2 hours, I wanted the participants to spend most of their time painting. I told them some basics about art and wellness, like how art lowers your blood pressure and boosts your good brain chemicals, showed them a demo and then let them take off with their ink and straws! We painted with sumi-ink, blowing the ink with straws and used watercolor to spatter and swirl. I always love how even when given a similar technique the individual spirit speaks!
