Morning Traffic July 10, 2018

Zero eight hundred

Garages lift, cars back out

Enter the rat race.

Art Prescription: I picked up Elbee this morning after being spayed.

Maybe I was short on coffee, but the world seemed to be moving robotically.

Goodness…. there is little balance in this world.

Sibling Love July 9, 2018

Safe in pile of fur

Black and white kittens curl-up

Heartbeat to heartbeat.

Art Prescription: my little “feral” kittens are doing well. I took their mother, Elbee, today to get spayed. Poor girl. I’ll pick her up tomorrow for TLC.

Heart-felt job taking care of these beings.

Watercolor sketch of two kittens: If you want to buy this painting 100% goes to Independent Animal Rescue.

Shade Tree July 8, 2018

Under the shade tree

There is song, nests, and feathers

Music to my ears.

Art Prescription: Took Finn out for a lovely trail ride. A break in the heat, nice!

We ambled past shadowy paths in the woods, and sunny trails by big leafy corn-fields.

Other than trying to eat grass, he was a good boy. My steady steed.

Oh Summer! July 7, 2018

A walk to garden

Cut aromatic basil

Smells of sun, summer.

Art Prescription: So the heat at 90 plus is oppressive. Oh summer…your rewards of fresh basil and tomatoes is paramount. There is so much mating going on, one can count the offspring daily!

Oh summer! Thank you.

Solid Ground July 6, 2018

Stand on solid ground

Earth beneath you giving strength

Gray clouds break to blue.

Art Prescription: Working with horses grounds me. These gentle giants have senses beyond ours.

Here’s me and my boy Finn standing side by side. He grazes, while I lean into his firm, horsey smelling body. He leans back a little, turns his head forward so I can caress his mane. To have a 1200 lb creature engage in affection is paramount!

Hello friends!

I caught kitten two this morning, and she, yes first girl, had a wound. I took her to the vet and now she is back trying to acclimate to humans.

Feral this morning, boy she put up a fight!

I hope I’m doing right by this little feral family.
