Don’t put your coat up
Not time to fan the heat yet
Winter’s not over.
Art Prescription: Cold rainy March days seep through to my bones.

Expressive art journal:

Must we move forward
Away from the simple, real
Where you can smell grass.
Art Prescription: Time away from the computer. I’m worried about our future, children who don’t touch the ground, know what grass smells like.

Hello friends and fellow bloggers,
I have a special treat for you today! I’ve been working with a group of young environmentalists to bring to life a body of kid’s art. Last summer these NC Kids painted their favorite NC threatened bird with my coaching.
Announcing The Threatened Bird Project Note Cards!! My company has produced this charming set of 12 note cards, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to our local Audubon chapter. http://www.newhopeaudubon.org
Please visit my Etsy shop to make your purchase to support the birds!

Art Prescription: How can we measure such fleeting beauty?
Two in the morning
I wake and can’t go to sleep
For thinking of you.
Art Prescription: it’s really hard to turn our brains off at night. Mantras, prayers, and deep breathing can sometimes not remedy sleeplessness. We toss and turn, rolling over options, bargains, denial. And yet the sun comes up facing us with another day of how to live.
Art Journal with acrylic and collage:

In the sky and sea
Stars illuminate our walks
The rhythm of waves.
Art Prescription: Icons of bright-light and hope…stars.

Unbalanced washer
Heart knocks and flutters with life
Waiting for the spin.
Art Prescription: we cycle through life, and it’s up to us how we hang our laundry.
Here’s my cactus…is she done?

Warm, when you were cold
Full, after you were hungry
Love, when you were hurt.
Art Prescription: I continue to slow-work this Botanical.
Mixing a specific color palette:

Time for spring yard work
Tempting to plant into pots
Just a hen and bit.
Art Prescription: Oh how tempting to buy lovely flowers for pots. I know that Mother Nature has another freeze in store.
This is my sketch and watercolor background for a piece I plan to do rather detailed…stay tuned.

Ikebana like
Rustic white flower bouquet
In a blue-green vase.
Art Prescription: just love this!
