I bury my head
Into your thick, soft horse fur
The roar seeps away.
Art Prescription: art journal sketch:

I bury my head
Into your thick, soft horse fur
The roar seeps away.
Art Prescription: art journal sketch:

Leaves crunch under foot
Scent of the earth fills my nose
A gem with each step.
Art Prescription: The wildflowers on the trails are abundant.
Pen and ink and watercolor pencil sketch en plein air.

And now in my studio I added water:

Hyacinths in snow
Delicate blooms float above
A blanket of white.
Art Prescription: A pretty spring snow. We don’t often see spring flowers with a snow back-drop here in NC.
Index card with watercolor:

Rain spat most of day
Horses fed, boot sucking mud
Home to this cuddle.

A thin purple flame
Burns out in warm winter fire
Forsythia blooms.
Art Prescription: It’s all give and take.
Watercolor:

Children’s joyful laugh
They paint purely with their heart
And know when it’s done.
Art Prescription: You can suggest more leaves, or more color, but kids know when their piece is done. “No it doesn’t need more leaves.” How can you argue with this kind of knowing?
Art from Art Kids NC in my studio!

Giggle at title
Succulents are lushly green
With velvet finish.
Art Prescription: A mate in progress:

Don’t put your coat up
Not time to fan the heat yet
Winter’s not over.
Art Prescription: Cold rainy March days seep through to my bones.
Expressive art journal:

Must we move forward
Away from the simple, real
Where you can smell grass.
Art Prescription: Time away from the computer. I’m worried about our future, children who don’t touch the ground, know what grass smells like.
