Cool and steady mist
Partly cloudy for days now
On the edge of fall.
Art Prescription: Each day the trees have a bit more color. Nature patiently puts on her fall wardrobe.

Authenticity October 11, 2013
Not sexy high heels!
The woods, farmland, dirty knees
Horses, dogs, and cats!
Art Prescription: Did your parent want you to be something you were not? Have you found your authentic self? Isn’t it wonderful to be YOU! Authentic YOU!
Art Deadline October 10, 2013
Fresh air studio
Door open to breath in fall
Working on deadline!
Art Prescription: My studio is total chaos!! Fun chaos! I’m working on lots of new paintings, so I have them spread out. At a distance perhaps I will know what to add next. Right now all of these are in progress.
Brave “Cowgirl” October 9, 2013
Stand your ground, be brave
Open your heart and just ask
What you need is there.
Art Prescription: Today at my Intuitive Horseback Riding lesson at Blue Sky Farm http://blueskiesmapleview.us/ my instructor invited me into the ring with Splash. I was to get Splash to walk or trot around the ring by being assertive, with my “energy.” I did have a little lion-tailed rope to give him a gentle butt tap, but mostly it was up to me to get this four-legged 1,000 lb animal to move. Okay, I have some real work to do here, but I did feel extremely BRAVE, and that is good. I feel nothing but encouraged by my challenges and am grateful for this experience. Here’s a brush sketch…
Sentinels of Life: Trees October, 8, 2013
Shade and oxygen
Year round seasonal beauty
The grandeur of trees!
Art Prescription: Working on this pair…wondering if I want to add reds and orange and make it a fall scene…or leave as is??
Indian Summer October 7, 2013
Indian Summer
Warm shades of yellows fill trees
Last wildflowers bloom.
Art Prescription: Here in North Carolina we have long season change…nice really.. I’m playing with making home-made stamps, used here and then inked a bit. Just fun!
Subtle Season October 6, 2013
Steady streams of leaves
Twirl to ground, still warm fall air
Autumn’s subtle move.
Art Prescription: Warm day, but Autumn sneaks in.
Dried Seeds October 5, 2013
Dried still-life on stem
A globe of abundant seeds
Gather and harvest.
Art Prescription: Gathering all the seeds in my garden…cosmos, cone-flower. Flowers are stunning when they are full of color, and I find a quiet kind of beauty in their dried state. The delicate lines amaze and invite me to take a closer look. Life is all about taking a closer look…how do you really feel…what do you really see…what reality do you really want. Take a closer look!!
Sensuous Rose October 4, 2013
Red October rose
Symbol of beauty and love
Scented, sensuous.
Art Prescription: Love of roses and their tantalizing scent has seduced and intoxicated people more than any other flower! The fossils of wild roses have been found as far back as forty million years ago.
Ocean Dreams October 3, 2013
Feel salt on my skin
Hear gulls laughing in the wind
Waves lap shore, rhythm.
Art Prescription: I could use a trip to the ocean about now. Long walks along the sand, listening to the waves rolling onto shore. Peaceful.
