Haiku January 29, 2013 Blue Birds
Love is in the air
He soars from tree, blue twinkles
Spring-fling, flirty bird!!
Art Prescription: After an ice storm 4 days ago, today it’s about 70 degrees here in North Carolina! Step outdoors and you would think spring has launched. The birds know it’s time to start the dance!!

Haiku January 27, 2013 Creek Side
Trail along creek-side
Thick bramble, perches galore
A fest for sparrows!
Art Prescription: Explored a “new” old trail along the creek at Mason Farm. Binoculars in hand, magnificent birds, breast reflecting winter sun.
Haiku January 26, 2013 Icicles
Deck rail lined with birds
Icicles stand attention
Glassy ornaments!
Haiku January 25, 2013 Snow and Ice
Roads white with snow, ice
Long walk to grocery store
Sleet clicks on bamboo!
Art Prescription: So cool to stand quietly under a canopy of bamboo and listen to the sleet click, click, tap, tap.
Haiku January 24, 2013 Fresh Roasted Coffee
On the bus, the scent
Freshly brewed hot hazelnut
Coffee on the go!
Art Prescription: How do you take your coffee? Slowly…while you wake up…or quickly out the door!!
Haiku January 23, 2013 Your Own Space
A place of your own
Space to spread your wings and fly
Private universe!
Art Prescription: As much as we humans need relationships, social media, love, and companionship, we also need space and time to be quite with ourselves.
Haiku January 22, 2013 Optimism
Optimism, hope
Something to look forward to
Energy to leap!!
Art Prescription: I wake up thinking of color!! Leap out of bed…well not quite. I do love a project!
Haiku January 21, 2013 Frogs
Trill of wetland frogs
Music fills the lush creekside
Water reflects sky.
Art Prescription: Frog medicine is a call for rain, cleansing. Our forecast is for temperatures to drop into the teens overnight…brrrr. Take cover frog!!
