Venus lights my way
Trample through damp wooded trail
Owls watch from above.
Art Prescription: Being out so early, still dark, is not my norm. But it is serenely beautiful!!
Light rain falls, grey sky
Sunset casts pink purple glow
Pumpkins smile on porch!
Art Prescription: Busy day! Time for a quick sketch! Our days can easily get occupied by the demands of our jobs, family, etc. Taking a 10 minute break to sit quietly and look at the sunset, do a quick sketch, can bring peace and closure to an otherwise hectic day!!
Sits proud in tree top
Full breast gleams in late day sun
Master of all song.
Art Prescription: Mockingbirds have many personalities. They can be jesters or intimidating…or should I say imitating? A large repertoire, they enjoy solo performances. Other birds call out to mates, but the Mockingbird sings for the crowd.
Black-eyed peas and corn
On the cob, of course, with squash!
A harvest dinner!
Art Prescription: It’s Tuesday, the day we buy fresh local farmer’s market produce on Lomo Market!! Triangle friends find a stop near you!! http://lomomarket.com/
Like swing ride at fair
Cosmo seed globes burst outward
Wait for wind to bed.
Art Prescription: My Cosmos are still blooming! So on one plant I have at least four stages of their life cycle: bud, flower, fertilize, seed! The seed globes are mini sculptures, delicate, and highly designed! Nature is a master architect!
Last fall flowers bloom
Seed pods stand over meadow
Release fancy wings.
Art Prescription: We walked our favorite place, Mason Farm. Seems just a week or so ago the open meadows were filled with yellow Partridge Peas and pink wild roses. Now a few asters remain and interesting seed pods take the place of flowers. A sea of golden rod, yellow grasses and a hint of reds now stretches out against the wooded backdrop. We did see a pretty striped snake along the trail. Mason Farm is a beautiful nature preserve with a few different habitats. Lots of birds, owls, foxes, coyote, to name a few! A great place for a nature sketcher!
Delicamente
A song for long precious life.
Holidays are here!
Art Prescription: The iconoclastic pumpkin is…simply beautiful. I’ve painted, so far, three different variations of the pumpkin and will share in future blogs. I’m busy cutting rice paper leaves for the UNC Hospital Remembering Tree and had lots of small pieces of paper left over. Always a fan of trying a new technique, I made a tiny collage.
