When out on a branch
Hanging round, trying to be
Just little ole me.

Tiny works of art
A safe place to hold your rings
Your hands in the dirt.
Art Prescription: I came across a set of Chinese painting bowls and they are super sweet. I’m up-cycling them into ring holders.
I’ll have a bunch ready for my Open Studio next weekend. Whoot!

Overnight it’s fall
Cheerio color fills trees
Leaves float all around.
Art Prescription: Colorful leaves dance down the street with breeze. Lawns are covered.
Watercolor in art journal:

Up before the sun
My neighbor’s Jack-O-Lantern
Still flickers in dark.
Art Prescription: As I crossed the early morning street to go take care of my neighbor’s cat, I saw the yellow flicker of candle in a carved pumpkin.

It’s All Hallows’ eve
Pitter, patter of small kids
Crickets sing along.
Art Prescription: while I sat on porch waiting for trick-or-treaters I went back into last nights loose watercolor with graphite.
Something very soothing about graphite, using finger-tips to blend.

Crisp breeze rustles leaves
Round pumpkins adorn porches
Kids dream of sugar.
Art Prescription: Thought about giving out something healthy instead of candy…ugh that’s not what kids want!
When I went trick or treating we carried pillow cases and had candy through March. We also played outside burning off those extra calories!
Watercolor Art Journal:

Made this awesome fall pizza with sweet potato, Apple, rosemary, and gruyere cheese. Micro- greens salad. Yum.

Ghosts and ghouls are near
Geese fly into setting sun
Witches stir their pots.
Art Prescription: Fall brings in favorite witches brews.
Index card watercolor sketch:

When things start to fade
Trees are ready to take rest
Few make last effort.
Art Prescription: Finally with some cool nights it’s looking like fall. Red Maples are turning, and leaves are falling. A single rose blooms.

Just so wet and cold
Even dogs don’t want to walk
Leaves bend with droplets.
Art Prescription: Cold is one thing, wet and cold is another! I’m so thankful on these days that Finn is so well cared for at Blue Skies of Mapleview.
I walked Austen for my neighbor. His favorite part was drying off.
Watercolor sketch:

Please hold on to hope
The look in a loved-ones eye
Know what you can reach.
Art Prescription: In a world full of need I ask myself what can I reach?
