Christmas Parade December 2, 2017

Small town lines the street

High-school band pipes out carols

A Christmas parade.

Art Prescription: We drove to a small town near us, Hillsborough, NC, for their Christmas parade. The poet in me is moved to tears by such events. It symbolizes old-fashion fun and values, and time spent with family and friends. I’m sure there was lots of facebooking, and instagramming, and tweets, and chats, but for some time suspended in the magic of the season, people were all together waving and cheering for small town heroes.

Out Past Dark November 27, 2017

Sunset through the trees

Cardinals give final “chip”

Sweetly, crickets sing.

Art Prescription: Such a lovely time of day. I gather my coat around my neck as the cool air settles in. The fall leaves creak a bit, perhaps a new leaf falls, settles. The trees are strong and dark with a pink glow behind them. The rhythm of life.
