Warbler March 5, 2016

Yellow Pine Warbler

Sings in tree tops, evasive

Suddenly appears!

Art Prescription:  I’ve been trying to see a Pine Warbler for a while now with my binoculars. “Hunting” the woods, listening for their song, and scanning the tree-tops for a view. Then today there they were, a pair, right in full view. And yes they are cute as can be.

Musical note sounds

Children practice their octaves

Harmonic series.

Art Prescription:  Long day at work with surgeries in the morning and CPR this afternoon. Even after many years as a nurse, I suppose it’s good to practice a skill that truly saves lives. Pray I never need to use them.

As I walked to get a breath of fresh air, I heard music coming from my neighbors house. They have four lovely children and I hear piano and trombone.

Line of Safety March 2, 2016

Four jet-black crows glide

Feathers dark as coal glimmer

A murderous bunch.

Art Prescription: Nature can be gruesome. It’s survival of the fittest. Did you know a group of crows is called a “murder of crows.”  What can we learn from the hunters and the hunted? Beauty and the beast…

Flowers blue yellow copySometimes no means yes

Especially with your art

Don’t stop believing.

Art Prescription:  If we didn’t believe in fairies, a fairy would fall dead every second! Believe in yourself! Believe in your art! No one can do it like you…so bring it on!

Like our hopes and dreams

The root of all success starts

With your soul’s blossom.

Art Prescription:  Being true to one’s self is an art. And it takes practice. Quiet moments tuning in to a deeper rhythm that sings your soul’s song.
