Rural hitchhiker

Relies on stranger goodness

For a ride to church.

Art Prescription:  On the way home from feeding the horses, I came across a gentleman hitchhiking on highway 54. He was nicely dressed in a suit and my thought was that he was looking for a ride to church. Reminds me that despite of the news, there is complete and total goodness in people. If you pay more attention to the daily rituals of love and kindness that is the human species it will help you immensely.

I go as my peaceful me

Karma, a real thing.

Art Prescription:  Do you take on other people’s anger, hostility, depression? Can you choose to do it differently? Can you go home as YOU? Chances are when you are dealing with angry people, it has nothing to do with you at all. It’s all about them and what they have to go home with, which is themselves.  So, breathe, and walk away and go do something you love. Bring yourself back to the reality that you go home with you!

Chance to share the world I see

Art Prescription:  Cleaning my studio to open to the public November 21st. I always find bits and pieces of projects started and abandoned, things I love and say, “wow I should do more of this,” and things I go, “what was I thinking.” Creativity is a ride…steep hills, curves, and long stretches of pure bliss.

Turn on Pasture Road

I leave the world behind now

To be with horses.

Art Prescription:  Today was the last day of my Women’s Intuitive Riding class for the semester. We ended with a “rodeo style” barrel race and obstacle course. It was great fun, and shows me how much more I need to learn! Riding horses is a mental and physical challenge. I figure I’m on the steep end of the learning curve in all arenas. And that’s what makes it all the more special…it’s the journey of life.

Smell of a wood-fire

Art Prescription:  Okay so the weather doesn’t usually get me down…but I’m so sick of rain I could scream!!! Okay there! So I picked out a stamp with some lovely pink flowers for today’s Art Prescription. Because like me you might could use a little tropical inspiration.

Noisy band of geese

Flew over the distant woods

Wings flapping the air.

Art Prescription:  Rode Finn bare-back today! Oh yes, sauna after…that folks is a work-out! Always beautiful moments at the farm. This morning a huge flock of geese flew over. For a few moments all you could hear was the gaggle of them telling each other which way to go. I wish someone would tell me which way to go…
