Delicate fall blooms
Bright, cheery on my back deck
Nuthatches are back!
Art Prescription: Sam planted some fall blooming plants. One of them is a delicate, orchid looking bloom. I have no idea the name, but the color and delicate shape intrigues me. Nuthatches are supposedly in decline, so happy to see them return to my sunflower seed.
Index card with colored pencil and pen and ink, my chop says “hope”
Gorgeous!! Love this! The color is fantastic!
Thank you. Colored pencil layers nicely on index cards. At the end of a busy day, this is the perfect size to work on.
That’s pretty much the only size I paint on now, but via my small Moleskine. It is perfect for the end of a busy day!
Lovely! What kind of nuthatches do you get that are in decline? We seem to have regular White-breasted Nuthatches. They’re bold and brave. 🙂
I think White-breasted. I heard at the beginning of the summer that because people have done such a good job bringing back the blue-bird, the Nuthatches were in decline. Then I noticed I wasn’t seeing them as much. Perhaps the’ve had a good breeding season!!
I hope they have had a good breeding season! I need to read up on why a growing bluebird population would decrease the number of nuthatches. 🙂
