The heat is on now
As we pull out Nanny’s quilts
To keep our soul’s warm.

Splash of red maple
Golden-yellow and green elm
Burnt umber seed pods
Art Prescription: I love to take a meditative walk and notice small finds. While fall wildflowers bloom in meadows, summer’s gala turns to seed, still beautiful.
All along the road
Trees are boasting final green
On their way to fall.
Art Prescription: The season’s always stir existential thoughts. So beautiful and timeless.
Tiny Journal in colored pencil;
Freshly fallen leaves
Quinacridone gold, ochre
And brilliant blues.

Seasons come and go
She forgets where her keys are
And paints a fall scene.
Art Prescription: Life moves so fast, it all blends into one.

Index card with watercolor:
With each new look up
I see more leaves losing green
Gaining fall color.
Art Prescription: I love fall! Each season has beauty and gifts, and I will miss summer’s pollinators!
Index card with watercolor:
Sharp, bright, fall sunlight
Euphonious, crickets hum
Musical meadow.
Art Prescription: The sun is sharp these days. Once up, she burns off frosted windshields…moves on to de-thaw grass. And still the crickets hum softly in the meadow.

Hey y’all my Art Prescription Deck: A Dose of Coloring Inspiration is available in my Etsy shop!!
Delicate fall blooms
Bright, cheery on my back deck
Nuthatches are back!
Art Prescription: Sam planted some fall blooming plants. One of them is a delicate, orchid looking bloom. I have no idea the name, but the color and delicate shape intrigues me. Nuthatches are supposedly in decline, so happy to see them return to my sunflower seed.
Index card with colored pencil and pen and ink, my chop says “hope”
Time spent on horseback
A gentle sway, keeping time
With nature’s tonic.
Art Prescription: There are two ways to keep time. One is by the clock, calendar, meetings, deadlines…and the other is by the soul where no clocks are allowed. Most of us live by the clock, chasing, running, getting it done! What if we lived by joy, quiet, time spent staring off into the woods (on a horse’s back). Of course you guys know I’m preaching to myself!!! I need to spend more time chasing spirit instead of the almighty clock.
