Weeding

Reach for and pull weed

Hundreds more wait, roots sunkin

Teaspoon in ocean.

Art Prescription: Like weeds, opinions are rooted. I’m feeling like humanity is dipping into a sea with a teaspoon.

Be gentle dear humans, for we all seek the light.

Building Blocks

Roof without cover

Garden with freshly tilled soil

Plans for the future.

Art Prescription: All projects start with plans. As you build, you reassess each angle. Measure twice, cut once.

I’ve just listed my next Stitch Kit!

Crowded Trails

Guess everyone is in need of getting outside.

Our usual quiet trail that leads to the back waters of Jorden Lake was packed with bikers, joggers, and walkers.

Sam got a few nice photos of Red-headed Woodpeckers.

Not sure what these will be…Maybe secret art drops…

In the Studio

Steady, cold, wet, rain

Tree limbs bow low, water logged

Warm, dry, studio

Art Prescription: About froze at the barn this morning. Finn was soaked.

Home to dry clothes and worked on Ramses paintings for an order.

Cowgirl Wisdom October 24, 2015

She moved me, the wind

And I listened deeply to

What she had to say.

Art Prescription:  I went to an animal communication workshop today at the farm where my horse Finn lives. It was intense and beautiful. I was overwhelmed with some emotions that came up, and I’m sure I will need to process my “conversations” more in the days to come. The horses were amazing and accepting and willing…wow!

Euphonious October 20, 2015

Sharp, bright, fall sunlight

Euphonious, crickets hum

Musical meadow.

Art Prescription:  The sun is sharp these days. Once up, she burns off frosted windshields…moves on to de-thaw grass. And still the crickets hum softly in the meadow.

Afternoon Shadows October 16, 2015

Afternoon shadows

Fall on black cows in pasture

Grain bin keeps the gate.

Art Prescription: As I do most Fridays after my two RN days, I headed out to see Finn at the farm. I can be completely exhausted, and my visit with the horses and fresh air renews my spirit. On the way home I take in the gently rolling pastures. Today a herd of black cows against the green pasture made me pull over. As I sat in a drive a white truck approached me. “You okay honey.” “Yes sir, I just pulled off to take a picture of your cows, may I.” “You sure can. Did ya see the babies? They are probably off down near the woods. They are purdy.” He backed up the drive. He had only come down to see if I needed help. Country. A far cry from the news of the day. Just people watching out for each other. I got my photo and headed home. Sigh…

October Blooms October 15, 2015

Delicate fall blooms

Bright, cheery on my back deck

Nuthatches are back!

Art Prescription:  Sam planted some fall blooming plants. One of them is a delicate, orchid looking bloom. I have no idea the name, but the color and delicate shape intrigues me. Nuthatches are supposedly in decline, so happy to see them return to my sunflower seed.
