New friends, like minded
Walk and talk as fall begins
A season for change.
Art Prescription: New friends…new perspective…change is good.
Dog barks in distance
Low August sun warms shoulders
Pull rock from my shoe.
Art Prescription: How long have I walked with that rock in my shoe? Feeling one-sided, out of balance, slightly annoyed. I heard the constant click as my foot hit the path, but didn’t really stop to see what was there. Like most of life, we have to make a conscious decision to pay attention.
Ah, the decision cascade: If this, then that, and what if? And we limp along.
What if it was really as simple as taking the rock from your shoe and moving on one step at a time!!
ps. the rock will be fine, rocks have their place, that’s how they became rocks…you my friend have become water, dynamic and flowing!
Nature mandala
A meditation on blooms
Daisy and cosmos!
Art Prescription: I saw this idea on http://girlunwinding.wordpress.com/2013/08/12/mandala-monday-stacks/ and couldn’t wait to try it! Such a beautiful way to make mandala art. Thank you girl unwinding!
Layers make a whole
Patience wins over hurry
Take your time, indulge.
Art Prescription: I’m as guilty as the next for trying to hurry-up and get to the next task…and in the mean-time, text a friend, look at Facebook, and check e-mail. We are such a culture of multitasking that it’s no wonder Attention Deficit Disorder is rampant. This afternoon I painted in my garden. For several hours I did nothing but take brush to paint to canvas. Sublime! This has some layers to go…
