Art Prescription: The most constant thing in life is change. Seasons change, people change, relationships change…Success in life often equals acceptance and gratitude. One day at a time. I had a lovely day! Taught an Art Prescription workshop and here are my demo pieces!
I had a fun group this morning in my Art Prescription (Expressive Painting) holiday card workshop. We played with Sumi-ink and watercolors, practicing two techniques before going on to the cards. It always amazes me how each hand of the artist takes color and line to create their own unique voice. Here are some of their creations!! Aren’t these fantastic! Thanks group!

Art Prescription: Everyone needs favorite places. This painting, a new exciting size of watercolor blocks 4 x 10 ish, was created from a place near our home called The Farm. Lush woods and a bamboo forest. Pretty in all seasons! Find one thing that captures your eye and build around it.

Art Prescription: Today I exercised my American right to vote! And I have to speak from my heart to say that in these times I wish I had a view into the future to assure me I’m making good decisions for those that go on after I’m gone. Like the somewhat innocent pageant contestant, I really just want world peace!!!

Art Prescription: As I took my afternoon walk, my neighborhood was lively with kids and families out enjoying this mild NC fall weather. Big blue sky, perhaps need a sweat-shirt. I painted with my studio door open…much to show later. Get out there while the weather is perfect for sketching or painting outside!
