Glamour June 17, 2014

Diamonds and pearls

Everyday glamorous

Audrey Hepburn chic.

Art Prescription:  As I sit here all moist with perspiration (aka sweat), in my summer shorts and tees, I wonder did these glamour queens always look this fresh? Did they wear diamonds and pearls to the movies and eat buttered popcorn with their bare hands? Surely they held their pinky finger just so while sipping tea. I’ll be right back….I’m boiling some fresh corn on the cob!!

Squirrel Proof June 16, 2014

Feed the birds, funny!

My stealth-like acrobatics

Houdini rodent.

Art Prescription:  Steamer of a day. While out watering my plants I watched the antics of my local squirrel friend. These “tree-rats” are clever, and anyone who has purchased a squirrel proof feeder knows they pretty much wasted their money. So, I just feed everyone.

Pillar June 7, 2014

A pillar of strength

Horses, with their all knowing

Grateful for the ride.

Art Prescription:  I rode Lacey today at Blue Skies of Mapleview. She is so sweet…oh dear…heart tug! On a whim, I stopped by another local horse barn. There I met Victoria, a beautiful girl, and her owner. I did a brush painting of her, trying to capture her strong features and gorgeous lines.

Art Drop June 3, 2014

Hope hangs in a tree

A fun message of surprise

Random acts of art!

Art Prescription:  Me and my accomplice did an art drop today….secret place. My hope is that a person who needs it most, will find a little piece of art to make them smile!

Come In My Muse June 2, 2014

Pause, ponder, produce

The muse, her senses keen, waits

Open door, “Come in.”

Art Prescription:  So my good friend Farley said to me today, “pause, ponder, produce.” I just adore that. I invite you to do the same!! And let your muse in to “pause, ponder, produce.” Aho!

Dragonflies June 1, 2014

Big fat dragonflies

Wings flicker in sun over

Turtles on a log.

Art Prescription:  It was very “buzzy” at Mason Farm today. Lots of winged insects. Dragonflies big as birds, well, almost. Watercolor pencil on 3 x 5 notecard illustration.

Simply Love May 28, 2014

Out beyond the gate

I find my breath, deep and full

On a white mare’s back.

Art Prescription:  Rode Lacey today! Some ring work…my trot a little better…and then off into the woods and corn-fields. Lean forward going up-hill and lean back going down hill. I try to let her rhythm carry my body. Trust, let go and breathe. Folks this is big.
