Rainy Sunday nap
Chihuahua snores between us
Cat purrs at my side.

Rainy Sunday nap
Chihuahua snores between us
Cat purrs at my side.

Around the pond ducks
Set up their nest in tall grass
Green heron returns

Taken for granted
New roll of toilet tissue
A button for heat

Laden with spring buds
Bare trees glow with fresh new growth
Color dots woodlands.

Wind chimes sing a tune
Pine trees sway as winter moves
Leaving room for spring.

Just now gold and red
Begin to glow along path
Come and walk this way.

Cool breeze and blue skies
Usher in fall with a sigh
Summer so so hot.

In times of great need
Of thirst, hunger, suffering
We can always share.

Am I safe right now
Do I need to hide or duck?
Is this my country?
Two miles from my home a shooter killed his advisor. Many young freshmen and older faculty were called into lock down. Complete terrorism.
When will our government change the gun laws? When?
Just broken hearted again.

Cicadas buzz buzz
Bright goldfinches eat thistle
Sweat rolls down my back.
