Art Prescription: Sam and I went for a late afternoon, almost evening, walk at Mason Farm. Lots of activity as the temperature drops and the sun sets with a dramatic pink sky!! As squirrels scurry to their nests, birds take last call, and the nocturnal world begins to wake.

Mushroom stands upright
Close to the ground, knows purpose
Aggressive plants yell.
Art Prescription: On the very crowded bus ride home, I was thinking about how each person goes about their days getting their needs met. We are all so different. Emotion is contagious…drama is quite exhausting.
Bus Haiku:
Standing room only
Bus full of weary workers
Homeward bound for eve.
Rich earth, woodsy smell
Steady shower of leaves fall
Ground collage takes shape.
Art Prescription: An early walk in the woods is good for the soul! Standing there watching morning sunlight stream in as leaves dance and sway to the ground is magical. I felt for a moment, oh no! what if this were not here! So quiet and peaceful there…like no other place.
A flicker of blue
Against golden hues of fall
He dips, catches bug!
Art Prescription: Saw a group of blue birds on my walk! They hop from branch to branch, occasionally diving to the ground for a treat. Brilliant jewel color!
Outside trees aglow
Burnt orange, red, and yellow
Indian summer.
Art Prescription: North Carolina fall…out in short-sleeves today. Trees are peaking in color. They seem to glow!
Five inches in ground
Tulips and anemone
Rest now…and then BLOOM!
Art Prescription: Today I planted 30 anemone bulbs and 15 tulips. Come spring I will have a canvas of blooms!!

Time for a change, carry on…
Days turn to weeks, months.
Art Prescription: The most constant thing in life is change. Seasons change, people change, relationships change…Success in life often equals acceptance and gratitude. One day at a time. I had a lovely day! Taught an Art Prescription workshop and here are my demo pieces!

Art Prescription: Big day here in America. My hope is that people will pull together for the greater good for all, no matter which side you are on.

Cats say “Dinner late!”
Art Prescription: I like fall back, gain an hour. My feline family says otherwise. Their little delicate schedules keep perfect time, and it’s definitely an hour later!!
