Warm, bright, space where I create
Welcome friends, neighbors!
Art Prescription: Today was a cold, wet, rainy day! And my friends and neighbors still came out to celebrate my open studio with me. Thanks y’all!! For those of you who live a little far off…
Farm entrance, dogwood
Cockle-berry takes hitch-hike
Horses in the woods.
Art Prescription: Both of us in need of clearing our minds, my friend and I. I went and led Finn out of the woods, rode a bit. Then we both took in the calm that is the farm, to clear our heads and sketch!
Snow recedes, gives way
To green and the sounds of spring
Cardinals call out.
Art Prescription: It’s chilly, and the birds are singing the winter blues. They know spring is around the corner.
Two shiny black crows
Velvet against deep, hard frost
Scratch steel blades of grass.
Art Prescription: Crunch goes the ground.
Seemed high for a pair of socks
Nine degrees! Warm feet!
Art Prescription: Mother Nature is kicking up her heels! Probably with wool sox!
White snowdrops appear
Out of frozen winter ground
Brave for December.
Negative painting makes snow
Art Prescription: I taught an Art Prescription workshop today, holiday card making. It’s so fun to play with swirly trees!
Spring pear-tree blossoms
Swirl to the ground like snow flakes
Blown about by March.
Art Prescription: The white-tops of spring blooming trees reminds me of snow.
Big, fluffy snowflakes
Drift down like a heavy rain
Each design unique!
Art Prescription: The natural world reminds me often that we are all unique! There is not another person or thing like us, which is what makes our individuality extra special!!
