Art Prescription: Both of us in need of clearing our minds, my friend and I. I went and led Finn out of the woods, rode a bit. Then we both took in the calm that is the farm, to clear our heads and sketch!

Negative thoughts, weeds

Can wrap, wind around your heart

Suffocating growth.

Art Prescription: So I did a little gardening today…actually a lot of gardening. Seems I’ve let my weeds get a bit out of control. Natures gentle lesson to remind me to tend my thoughts. Pen and ink, watercolor pencil on watercolor paper.

Art Prescription: We went to the J C Raulston Arboretum today in Raleigh. Pretty place. Lots of different styled gardens. Need to go back with sketchbook. Watercolor pencil on a strip of watercolor paper.

Art Prescription: This started as a watercolor pencil sketch in my garden on mixed-media paper. Then I took it into my studio and washed it down with water. I added watercolor loosely over pencil strokes and then spattered a bit! FUN!

Horses Grazing June 14, 2014

Art Prescription: Lovely morning at farm! Rode Lacey and got to hang out and do some ground work. Once done, the horses got to go out and graze in the tall grass. Yep! Makes them happy. Watercolor pencil sketch on index card.
