Even in a down economy people love art and craft festivals. Last Sunday’s Festifall in Chapel Hill, NC was no exception. A perfect temperature, clear Carolina skies, and a juried line up of vendors made for a highly enjoyable afternoon.

I was pleased to see so many fine artist booths. A stand-out in the crowd was Michelle DeFillipo of www.vintagegirldesigns.com. Michelle’s use of color and design draw people to her art, and her inspiring words make the final connection.

Michelle says this is what motivates her to continue making and selling her art at shows. The positive feedback and personal connections are what drives this artist.

Talking with Michelle reminded me to always paint from the heart.
