Morning Rush February 2, 2017

Testing gravity

For no apparent reason

She thought she could fly!

Art Prescription: When the knees and the concrete met, it was evident she could not. Coffee, however, seems to take flight until alas it empties it’s precious fuel.

I think I will stick to feeling weightless in the pool…bruised knees, bruised ego.

Index card painted with coffee (the cup I did not have) and watercolor pencil:

Hello February February 1, 2017

First day of new month

Almost seventy-degrees

In February.

Art Prescription:  I’m not complaining, beautiful day. February brings to mind love. Usually cold which lends itself to cuddling, I’m kicking off the covers. Oh dear…sweet cupid, shoot me!!!

4 x 6 abstract watercolor and acrylic on watercolor paper. Available in my Etsy shop as a “Love Note.” Sneak romance into your beloved’s work tote!

Mulleygrubs January 30, 2017

Case of mulleygrubs

Cure is a cake or red dress

Or watercolor.

Art Prescription:  I first heard of “mulleygrubs” from Ginger Andrews’ poem “The Cure.”

“The cure for the mulleygrubs,

she tells my sister,

is to get up and bake a cake.

If that doesn’t do it, put on a red dress.”

It seems listening to the news is causing me a sure case of mulleygrubs, so I paint and paint and paint!! And maybe pray…
