Neglected plants wilt

Tended to they grow, blossom

Relationships too!

Art Prescription:  Every day we both consciously and unconsciously decide where to put our energy and love. Sometimes the spiral of life is going so fast that we spend our time speeding around playing catch-up. For me knowing what truly makes me happy and balanced helps me tend the right garden. But…oh…it’s so easy to get caught up in chaos. Usually our body or our mind will “real” us back in and make us think, what do I really want for my one precious life.

Haiku May 2, 2012 Pillows

Soft, fluffy, pillows

For sleep, for naps, luxury

Satiny, smooth, rest!

Art Prescription:  While tending to my feline pride today, my new watercolor fabric arrived! Perfect day to sew pillows. The fabric looks great and my sewing will-do. Good to learn something new. Some days have more WOW!

Challenges, worries, heart-break

Art Prescription:  Started my day rushing my cat Maya to the vet. She is home now after being sedated and having an abscess drained…poor girl. When something like this happens all of a sudden everything else in your universe comes to a screeching halt as you realize there is nothing more important than this little creature. Life, love, gets your total attention.

Art Prescription:  Creativity means doing, managing, producing, promoting, and building the business you see in your mind. It’s persistence, stubbornness, tiredness, joyfulness, sleeplessness…what other ness comes to mind. The support of your spouse, family, and friends means the world…they believe in you! Art Prescription:  Wonderful feedback this weekend at the Durham Art Walk on my newest Bird Song Collection! People made a bee-line to these new fun mixed-media pieces. Good for me because I love doing them. Hopes, dreams, and creativity are at the core of my life…I am very fortunate to have the loving support of my husband!

Art Prescription:  Nature does a great job with teaching us about reliability. Seasons come and go, and nature knows her beauty to perform. Nature cannot fake you out…the bees know which way to go!! Trust your inner wisdom for guidance. Only you know what soothes your soul.

Glory days pass by

Peaks in time dazzle your thoughts

Art Prescription:  Whether you’ve just attended a reunion or run into someone you worked with in the past, it’s human nature to think about our “glory days.” As a culture we are always looking back to remember our lives, our families, our decisions, our dreams…How does the song go?  “Glory days in the wink of a young girl’s eye.” I’m gracious for all the wonderful experiences I’ve had that make up my life view today…and miles to go!!

Beagle bays at larger dog

Art Prescription:  Beautiful day. Hard to stay focused and get work done. Sam home and we went for a walk. This time of day I find much amusement in the neighborhood dogs. Sounds tell us so much about what is going on in our environment!

Fresh cut pink roses

Fragrant curry cooks on stove

Tuesday filled with love.

Art Prescription:  After an exciting open studio last night, today was a day to dote on my home and husband. I’m pretty much at my happiest enjoying the luxuries of my garden and kitchen. Six vegetable curry on the stove! Yum! Every day is meant to bring joy. The sights, smells, and spirits of a well-loved home is magic.
