Morning walk, fresh air
Cleansed by steady rain showers

Art Prescription: What a refreshing change to have cool rainy weather after a week of 100 degrees. An early morning walk out into my garden reveals silvery rain drops on petals and leaves. This is a good drawing practice. It’s all about shadow and light. Next time you see a drop really look closely…do a study of one leaf or one flower petal.

I really need to practice more in learning shadow and light, so thanks Beverly for the idea of drawing and centering on one leaf and raindrop. I like how you break things down to a smaller study. Sometimes I overwhelm myself by thinking I must draw or paint a big picture rather than centering on a smaller portion of what I see.
Here in Indiana, we are thankful also for the 89 degree weather rather than the over 100 degree weather from last week.
