Held it for a while, the wind
Swept it off my palm.

Hi Kendall, thanks for your comment. Yes the haiku a bit melancholy. The leaf was more of a launching!! I am launching my dreams! Now I did write a few things that I want to let go of, but taking my dreams to the river is a mindful way for me to remind myself that life is about flow!! Happy New Year to you!
