It’s all in the shadowing and I got mine too dark from the start and lost my brights. That is one of the tricks of watercolor. You paint light to dark, whereas with oils and acrylics you paint dark to light. Brain-twister. I may try this again. Looking at it with fresh eyes I see where I can improve. I’m not even sure she’s at the beach, lol. May paint a better ocean too. ^..^~
Hehe…I have the same problem and don’t even have a background in oils as an excuse! Starting too dark is a constant struggle for me. But still… your end result is lovely! 😉
