Sweet gums are the first
Splashes of yellow appear
Leaves begin to change.
Art Prescription: Driving home from the farm today I began to notice a few patches of yellow here and there. In our yard it is the sweet gum trees that are the first to start changing color and dropping their leaves. The cooler mornings are a sure sign that fall is here.

That’s lovely! We have a good bit of sweet gum on our property and they are the prettiest trees (just have to watch that you don’t walk barefoot after they’ve dropped the seed pods…LOL!).
Yep pretty prickly. Now that’s a complicated seed pod to try and draw!
